Module 01

Taking the order should be the fastest thing anyone does all evening.

A till that makes a captain think is a till that slows a floor. Dearrasa POS is built for muscle memory: short codes, repeat rounds, modifiers without a detour, and a bill that splits the way the table actually wants to pay.

On the floor

Six things a busy counter needs, and most tills make hard.

Find an item in two keystrokes

Short codes, name search and category tiles all reach the same item. Frequently ordered dishes surface first for the daypart you are in, so a breakfast counter is not scrolling past biryani.

Repeat the last round

One action reorders exactly what a table had, drinks included, with the same modifiers. For bar heavy services this alone removes a significant share of keystrokes across a night.

Modifiers that reach the station

No onion, extra spicy, jain, half portion, gravy on the side. Each modifier can change the price, the recipe deduction and the station instruction, and it prints on the ticket the cook actually reads.

Split, merge, transfer

Split by guest, by item or evenly. Merge two tables that joined, move a bill to another table without losing timing data, and settle one bill across several payment modes at once.

Cash, card, UPI, wallet, loyalty

Part payments across modes on a single bill, with each tender recorded separately so the cash drawer reconciles against actual cash and nothing else.

GST invoicing that survives an audit

Correct rate per item, HSN detail, composite handling for combos, sequential invoice numbering per outlet, and credit notes that reverse a bill instead of deleting it.

Control without friction

Discounts, voids and comps are where money leaves quietly.

Not because staff are dishonest, but because nobody is watching a keypad at nine on a Saturday. So the till watches instead, and it does it without making the honest path slower.

Limits

Thresholds by role

A cashier can apply a courtesy discount up to a limit you set. Beyond it, a manager code is required and the reason is recorded. The same applies to comps, item removal after a ticket is fired, and reprints of a settled bill.

Trail

Every exception carries a name

Voids, discounts, price overrides, cancelled tickets and drawer openings are logged with user, terminal, time and reason. The daily exception report is short enough that a manager will actually read it.

Shift close

Reconciliation in one screen

Expected cash by tender against counted cash, with the variance stated instead of buried. Shift close is signed off by the person closing it, and the record cannot be edited afterwards.

How it connects

A bill is not the end of the order. It is one view of it.

The same order that produced this bill fired the station tickets, moved the stock and contributed to tomorrow's forecast. Nothing was copied between systems to make that happen.

  • Kitchen display receives the items split by station the moment the order is confirmed, with modifiers attached.
  • Inventory posts recipe consumption against the store, including the difference a half portion or an extra topping makes.
  • Tables move from seated to ordered to awaiting bill without anyone updating a second screen.
  • Loyalty recognises the guest at the point of billing and applies the reward balance as a tender.
  • Forecasting treats the timestamped item level sale as its training data, which is why its output improves with use.
Practical questions

Hardware and paperwork.

Can we keep our existing terminals and printers?

In most cases yes. The counter runs in a browser on Windows or Android, and thermal printers are driven over the local network or USB using standard ESC POS commands. Send us the make and model of your terminal, printer and cash drawer and we will confirm before you commit to anything.

Does it work on a tablet for captain ordering?

Yes. The captain view is a reduced interface on the same order record, designed for one handed use while standing. It holds orders locally if the wifi drops at the far end of a floor and posts them when the device reconnects.

How are aggregator orders billed?

They arrive as orders on the same rail, marked by channel, with commission and packaging treated as their own lines so your dine in margin is not quietly averaged with delivery margin. Settlement reports separate them.

What about invoice numbering across outlets?

Each outlet holds its own sequential series with its own prefix, and numbering continues correctly through an offline period because the series is issued locally and reconciled on sync.
